Who am I?
I am a photographer, artist, reporter and teacher.
For more than fifteen years, I have divided my time between commissioned photography, artistic practice, reportage and teaching. My work has led me to collaborate with museums, galleries, collectors, cultural institutions and craftspeople.

Training the Eye
I began my career photographing archaeological objects for museums, collectors, galleries and foundations. These included pre-Columbian ceramics, particularly from the Chancay and Chimú cultures, as well as Hopi, Zuni and Navajo objects.
That work shaped the way I see objects. Photographing them required far more than technical skill: I had to understand volume and materials, reveal presence through light, and do justice to the work of the people who made them.
Artistic Research
Over the years, object photography has become much more than a professional activity. It has gradually become an important part of my artistic practice.
Still life has become my main field of exploration. I find in it the same questions that run through my photographic work: light, materials, volume, balance and the way we look at objects.
Ceramics naturally play an important role in this work, alongside glass and other materials, in images where photography often enters into dialogue with painting.

From workshops to Ceramic Photo School
My work as a reporter has taken me into many workshops and introduced me to makers with very different skills. Through these encounters, I discovered the work of ceramic artists—their gestures, techniques, and the difficulties they often face when trying to photograph their pieces faithfully.
Gradually, one idea became clear: to bring together my experience as a photographer, my eye as an artist, my work with makers and more than twenty-five years of teaching in a method that is both simple and rigorous.
That is how Ceramic Photo School was born: a course designed to help ceramic artists photograph their work accurately, sensitively and independently.
